The Arcata Marsh is a prime spot for birding, easy hiking and great views of the Arcata Bay. Throughout the year birds or mammals can be viewed on the 225 + acres that are open to the public.

The Arcata Marsh is world famous as a green wastewater treatment solution that also provides an inspiring bay window view to the benefits of integrated wetland enhancement. Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM), provides educational tours and an interpretive center at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary facility free of charge.
